Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation

Today I am reviewing a great foundation that I have recently discovered but first I would like to take you through a simple rating criteria that I am going to use.

I will be judging foundations on the following  5 characteristics

  • Coverage- light, medium, heavy
  • Texture and finishing-thick, creamy, fluid. matte, dew, satin
  • Longevity- staying power
  • Ease of use- packaging and handling.
  • Pocket friendliness- affordable or not.

I will be rating it on a scale of 1 to 10, with 2 points attributed to each category.

I am reviewing Maybelline dream mousse liquid foundation- Airbrush finish. It is available in 12 different shades so there is no way you cannot find your shade. the one I am reviewing is in shade sandy beige medium 1

The website claims that it is Oil-free, fragrance-free,  dermatologist-tested, allergy-tested, non-comedogenic, won’t clog pores, safe for sensitive skin and is ideal for normal skin.

Coverage-This foundation has medium to heavy coverage. Depends on what you want. It covered my spots and blemishes quite well but I still needed heavier coverage for my under eye area.  So you can add a little more on the required area or just go for a concealer. It works perfectly for my skin type, which is normal to dry. You might have to use a little compact powder if your skin tends to get oily in some parts. I am wearing it here.

Texture and finishing- The texture is creamy and smooth and is easy to blend. It stays true to its name. It does give a kind of airbrushed look if you use a brush and need only a few dots around the face to get to the medium coverage. It can be applied using a brush or simply your fingers and blending is easy. Finishing is between dewy and satin. It is perfect for day time makeup since it gives a fresh and smooth coverage which looks natural in the daylight.

Longevity-I still have to try it for a period longer than 4 hours. I can say that it held on for the 4 hours I had it on. The shine was gone towards the end but there was no patchiness or flaking of any kind.

Ease of use– The bottle is translucent and makes it easy to get a good look at the color it is holding. It comes in a pump form but without any cap which makes it inconvenient for travelling purpose since there is a major risk of spill.

No cap so not suitable for travelling.

Pocket friendliness– It is pocket friendly and is a good value for money.

Price– Rs 575 to Rs 625 for 3oml across different websites in India.

Available in 12 shades

  • Coverage- 1.8/2
  • Texture and finishing- 1.8/2
  • Longevity 1./2
  • Ease of use- 1.5/2
  • Pocket- 2/2

Overall 8.1/10

Recommendation: Go for it if you are looking for a pocket friendly foundation that can give good coverage for everyday use.
